The Cursed Fig Tree

When Eve, then Adam took and ate of the fruit from the tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil, they gave to Satan the right to enter into their mind, body and soul and to claim it for himself.

Satan knew what he was doing in The Garden. He wanted to take from God what was rightfuly His. Because God created us to be His people for relationship and companionship. God wants us. He is our Father.

Satan deceived Eve first, then she went to Adam to encourage him to eat as well.

And he did. 

That was the beginning of Satan having power over mankind. He had slithered into the Garden and made a living space for himself in that one tree and God warned the first couple to stay away and to never eat it's fruit. 

Now we're all infected. Since the "fall from Grace" of Adam and Eve, all children are born into a world infected with evil.

The moment they ate of the fruit, a change in all things regarding the earth, automatically engulfed the whole earth. Creatures preyed on other creatures; some plants, trees, grasses were cursed too. Some grew thorns, some were inedible by humans for various reasons like toxic poisons.  

Only God knows why some and not others. Yet we read in Mark 11:12-14 that Jesus sees a Fig tree in the distance in leaf as he's walking with some of the disciples towards Jerusalem where He turns over the merchant's tables at the Temple. Upon reaching ithe fig tree, expecting by His Presence for it to provide fruit for Himself and all His travelling companions, and it does not. His Answer to this situation of defiance is to speak to the tree. His Words cursed the tree from ever producing fruit unto it's demise. 

This is an indication to us that when we stand in defiance against God, we are under a curse until we decide to follow Him in this short window of our soul living on earth. Then before our death, in our brokenness of trying to live without Him, we can return as a prodigal son or daughter to The Father's house and receive Forgiveness; to be reinstated as an heir.
