Hebrews 12:8

Hebrews 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Friend, many wonder what this Word straight from the Holy Spirit means to them personally.

The Father is conveying to us a Truth here that is shored up by The Law of God.

He says in our language today that those of us who are called by Him and have accepted His Son as our Saviour God, will be chastised or disciplined as a means of molding us into better and worthy children of God.

Those of us who deny and resist the discipline will never grow in their faith and eventually will fall away from believing; losing their right to be called a son or daughter of God with a place in the Kingdom of Almighty God Who owns everything that exists, and has created it all as well.

But those who persevere because of their love for the Goodness of God, will grow in Knowledge and gain "faith muscles" that will empower their walk in the Lord.

Learning of the Attributes of God, the Law of God, the Love and Power of God we begin to have things revealed to us about our lives and the lives of others.

We see that Heaven is real, and we desire to be with God as His child.

A father chastises his children to keep them from making bad choices and stumbling all over themselves.

He does it out of love and care for their future when he is not there to keep them from falling into trouble.

Our Heavenly Father also chastises us in order to grow us into mature believers; sons and daughters.

For some, perhaps personal pride has to be lessened, for others perhaps a lying tongue has to be chastened.

God sees our faults and in Love He begins to work with us to slough off those qualities that would keep us from growing in Righteousness.

Christ died so we may be Righteous. But some of us continue to sin and God wants to help us to become more like His Son.

The writer of Hebrews also says...

Hebrews 12:11  Now, no chastening for the present seems to be joyous, but grievous; nevertheless afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are excercised thereby.

We will learn to serve God with reverence and Godly fear; knowing He will discipline us because He has accepted us as sons and daughters.

His Love for us will never waver when our love for Him does not waver.

Read His Word, friend, to find out what He wants you to know about Him and The Kingdom of God.

We never know when our time is up.

What can it hurt to hear what God has to say?

Knowing The Law allows us to not put our own spin on how things are, but encourages us to see things from the perspective of God's Law.

By so doing we "see" with the eyes of God - what He allows and how our perspective was flawed.

It is easy then to settle into the thinking of Christ, knowing it is Perfection; not needing to be challenged.
