Jesus Our Friend

There's an old song sung in Chrstian churches all over the world called "What A Friend We Have in Jesus."

There are no truer words.

Yes, He is our Saviour King and known to the Christian by many other Names of which, He owns All.

And He is our Friend also.

Mankind loves to have a Friend; a Good Friend, an Honorable Friend, a Trustworthy Friend.

And we find as we go through life, that friends tend to come and go due to our moving around in order to chase dreams, or just to survive.

But Jesus is with the one who loves us, at all times.

He is near to those who love Him the Bible tells us.

He loves with what the Bible says is an Agappe Love. It's a Greek word meaning all encompassing and indescribable whole love. Not sexual, more than brotherly, and more than friendly.

It's the Creator's Love for the thing He created.

First He Forgives us because of His Own Sacrifice of His Own flesh, on The Cross, for our sins. All of them past, present and any future ones we repent of, and He will help us to overcome continual and habitual sinful lifestyles, because He went to the Cross to remove them from us.

When we accept this Sacrifice, and agree that He is the One who has saved us from a life apart from God, both in this life and in eternity; we begin to be thankful and grateful, which leads to love for Who He Is and what He did for us.

We are able to see with spiritual eyes, what He has accomplished for us. It is overwhelming; not a small thing at all.

As we read His Word and study to know more about Him; He reveals through the Holy Spirit; Holy Truths to our hearts. In that process, our love grows more and more for Him.

In His Word He asks us to go into a "secret closet" with Him and Him alone; no outside influences - just one on One time with Him alone.

We can be on our bed in a meditative state of reflection and seeking; we can be at the beach or on a high mountain - anywhere we are alone for a time of refreshing and renewal. It can be 5 minutes or whatever time we have to spend with Him alone. The longer the better.

Let Him refresh your mind and teach you a new thing about Him and The Kingdom of God, of which you have inherited a place in it.

Don't throw your inheritance away without first looking into what it is!

Of course He is with us at all times, so if we are so busy with family's needs and so forth, we can still talk with Him throughout our day, at any time. We can pray before our day starts and stay connected all day.

He is Faithful to those who love Him, and all the Promises in the Bible are theirs.

What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer
Oh, what peace we often forfeit
Oh, what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer
