Meditation for today Ps. 127:1

Scripture. 

Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchmen waketh in vain.     

Psalm 127:1  KJV

Here we learn that unless the lord is the One we look to for all our needs and give Him the place of honour, we work in vain for everything.  The gains we make by ourselves are worth nothing eternally.

The place of honour is the leadership role.  We do not see as He sees.  He knows the path to lead us on.  From His high place, He knows what we need to become the child of God He died for. 

He suffered for us while we were sinners.  He did not wait for us to become "better", "cleaner", "purer". He knew you and I would be born and be stained with sin, before our birth, yet He chose to die for us to have the opportunity to know Him and spend eternity with Him. 

He knew the paths we would take, He knew the lengths He would have to go to in order to get our attention, so He left His Word here as a family inheritance letter showing his great love to us, and He left the Holy Spirit to be a counselor and keeper of our soul.

Now it is time to read about Him, your Heavenly Father, the One who loves you more than you could ever love anyone.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for who You are and what You do for me.  Help me to find You in the pages of Your Word.  Amen.
