Meditation  Verse

Scripture.  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels.  Revelations 3:5

Jesus speaks of overcoming in this scripture from Revelation.

Overcoming, is definitely a New testament theme.

A believer having received salvation is required to overcome the sin that is embedded in them from living in this sin-filled earth, and grow in faith and spiritual knowledge.

God knows we need to be strong in faith and by studying his Word, it strengthens our heart and mind.  It is food for our soul and spirit.

We start out drinking spiritual milk like babies.  Baby Christians.

As we gain understanding, God opens new realms of who He is, to us and feeds us the meat and potatoes.  As we grow in Him we become stronger and able to overcome evil.

We should be eager to please Him, and we should be disliking the ways we have been using to negotiate through life; at the urging of the Holy Spirit Who is convicting us of those ways from the moment we are saved.

We actually see things in a New Way and that is through the eyes of our Lord. We know as never before, that "that" is a sin.It may be a way of thinking, or a way of speaking, it could be one of the ten commandments that we continuously break, thinking it is "okay" because we are forgiven now of all sin.

We must face up to the new challenges the Holy Spirit places before us. We have the assurance that God is Great and full of Power to help us in our times of battle against the unholy demonic forces that beset us and try to keep their strangle hold on us.

As we read the Bible, He gives us the tools to overcome.

We should want to be overcomers, because He has asked us to step out and try to overcome.

He will be there as we take each step.

Picture Him leading you through the murky mire of sin and place your foot one after the other in His Footsteps and you will be an overcomer and grow strong against temptation.

Prayer
Lord, thank You that you are always there for me.  Help me to study Your word to find the hidden tools that I need to overcome and show me which sin for today.  Give me a heart that is full of faith in You.  Amen.
