Psalm 51. Ch1:17

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Friend, King David was led by The Spirit to utter those words to God in prayer and supplication after he had grieviously sinned.

King David's words are exactly what we need to understand in our heart and mind also.

David realises that no burnt offering will appease God. It is our heart that God desires.

A broken spirit, a repentant heart is where we need to be when it comes to speaking to God about our life's choices.

We can never please Him who is Holy and Pure, never sins, always is full of Truth, Love and Justice unless we are aware of our sinful heart and mind, and have come to the end of it, to where we wish to stop the foolishness and mayhem of a wasted life.

Once we realise we are utterly sinful compared to His Greatness and our choices are lacking in Goodness, we can humble ourselves before The Cross where His Son was slain, for us to have a renewed relationship with the Godhead, and cry out to Him in agony for the wrongness of our life, and ask Him to Forgive and accept our repentant heart/soul.

When the heart and mind agree on this, the Lord is faithful to Forgive; take us under His Mighty Wing and renew us as we enter into fellowship with Him; learning new Holy ways and doing only His Will, covered by The Blood which makes us clean again and again when we have the minor slips and falls that will come less and less as we allow Him to lead, guide and direct us.

Friend, throw off the worldy ways that have seduced you. Take up the burden of the consequences of your sin and Jesus will take those burdens from you one by one, making you Free; teaching you how to walk in Godliness with Him.

It can be done. Just you and Him.
