The Bible
Acts 2:38 (KJV)
The Bible, God's Wonderful Gift to us.
Friend, have you ever stopped to think about reading The Bible?
It's a Book worth reading!
If you have a heart for Truth, and a mind that desires Knowledge, you will love what The Lord has written for you.
It's a Book that has 66 letters from God.
It has something for each heart.
For some who desire to start from the beginning, God lays out a panorama from early times to end times.
Or, one can open the Bible to begin reading at any Book, Chapter 1, or any verse, and jump to another book thereafter.
It's possible to look up a word in the back pages addendum and find passages numbered that contain your word of enquiry.
We can also glean information about pages by checking the words at top of page. They give a description of what is contained in the verses on a page.
Some new believers are advised to start with the book of Matthew, which is the first Book of the New Testament to read about the birth and ministry of Jesus.
More advanced seekers may want to know more about the prophecy of Jesus's birth, and those verses can be found in the Old Testament Books written by the Prophets. Search and read Isaiah and Jeremiah where God indicates He will provide a New Covenant - this is Jesus, Christ of God.
Others may have a question about what led to the crucifixion and also the Resurrection of The Son of God.
There are prophecies in the Old testament that speak of it, and then there are the eyewitness accounts in the New Testament Books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
Revelation is on many people's minds, and one can start to read that Book and find other references throughout the Bible; by noting where the Bible lists corresponding verses in various other Books.
Some have heard of the Disciple Peter, whom Jesus said He would begin the church on earth with; Peter being the first disciple He called to follow Him.
Luke was a physician and his insights are flavoured with the mind of a physician. For instance his description of the dead Lazarus a great friend to Jesus, being returned to life after three days.
Paul was a persecutor of Christians after Jesus was crucified. He had a supernatural encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus. He converted to Christianity and wrote Acts and other letters to Christian churches he started as he travelled. His personality shines through in his words to the believers and his advice shows us how to conduct ourselves in this evil world.
The Holy Spirit used each man according to his personality, character and integrity, when He gave to them the Words to write.
We can almost hear Jesus speaking the Sermon on the Mount, as if we were in the hungry crowd, yearning for freedom, knowledge, healing, and a new master who does not oppress the people, for they are under Roman rule.
Jesus tells the disciples how to approach the throne of God, how to pray, praise and worship The King of Kings, throughout, but in Psalms, He included words from an earthly King (David) who God says is a "man after His own Heart." Reading the Psalms is a great help to our hearts and minds.
In this Living Work of God, there are so many little Words of advice, kindness, truth and prophecy of the future; we find ourselves walking with the disciples and living the life they led with Jesus in their midst; sitting around campfires, cooking the fish of a fresh caught catch aided by their Master, listening with eager ears to the teachings, witnessing the miracles.
Everythng we need to know has been written for our edification by a Loving Father.
We learn too that we are sinners, according to God, and that a way has been made for us to be Forgiven, by God and to be absolved from sin; redeemed back into the family of God.
There is so much more. Each person has a lifetime worth of knowledge to acquire and God has provided it in His Word, supernaturally for each one of us who will ever live.
He tells us about how we can stop generational curses, behaviours, ailments, bad thinking patterns that will free our future children and their children from the Wrath of God; our deserved punishment for living sinful lives and denying the Saving Grace of Jesus.
We should approach the Bible with reverence and a willingness to hear Truth; to learn about God's Law, to read how God responds to evil and how He helps, His people and those who love Him, who have believed in His Son.
By reading the Bible, God helps us to renew our mind, to become a new creature through belief in Christ.
His Words of Life, Love, Beauty, Truth, Power will help us in our daily life. We will see through His eyes and discern good from evil in situations, allowing us to make better choices.
The Bible is a Book to cherish. It is God's Holy Word to His children who have gone astray on this earth.
Has your earthly father written for you a book of wisdom, love, and perfect advice for every scenario you will face in life that shows you how to have Eternal Life?
God has, because He Loves you with a Holy Love
The Holy Bible will fulfil our thirst for Knowledge all the days of our lives; if we choose to allow God to be King.
The Holy Bible declares The Perfection of Almighty God.
