The Cross
Friend, have you ever wondered what would have happened if Jesus had not answered the call from The Father to make a Way for the souls of man to be reunited with The Trinity?
First, Jesus, being God also, being The Word, The Law, was a third of the Plan of The Trinity of God, to redeem mankind.
All of Heaven heard the question, "Who will go?"
None could answer. None could fulfill the Law of Punishment for the crimes against The Law which were given to Moses; The Ten Commandments which humans were unable to adhere to in Holiness, because of the workings of evil men and women who had been dragged away from their faith and belief in Holy Almighty God.
They had been introduced to every depraved act; murder, unclean sexual practices, thievery, lying, cheating, greed, worshipping idols, adding to the Law, and so on.
They had fallen prey to the enemy and now their hearts were drawing in others; their sons and daughters, their wives and siblings, fathers and mothers and friends were also lost in evil tentacles.
Over centuries, they had allowed themselves to become enslaved to others and forgotten their God.
The future looked untenable and deplorable.
Not that God didn't already know this could happen when He created the Earth. But we were given a chance to prove to Him that we loved Him and we failed.
He is Pure and knows all, and has answers and Judgments for all things, yet gave us the ability to stand firm with Him and we let Him down. Nevertheless He always knew the next step, if we failed, would be the culmination of His Justice for all to see.
Jesus stepped forward and said, "send Me, I will go."
It was agreed and satan was not privy to the agreement.
At an appointed time, it happened that Jesus was sent into the world.
Satan heard about it after He was born and immediately set about trying to have the baby killed. Thousands of male children one year and under were killed, but Jesus by God's design, lived.
At about 30 years of age He started a Public Ministry here. He left His parent's home and gathered together disciples to journey with Him, proclaiming The Good News of God's Kingdom.
As days unfolded, Jesus followed the Lead of God and The Holy Spirit.
Eventually He went to The Old Rugged Cross a symbol of His Great Love for us who believe and a Beacon of Hope for the unbelievers.
But, what if He had not gone to the Cross?
What if in Heaven when this Redemption was being discussed between The Godhead, it was decided that mankind was not worth saving.
Perhaps it would be better if mankind be wiped out again and a new species or none at all inhabit earth?
Well, friend, we would not exist today.
So just for that very small thing, your life, my life, we should be grateful for The Mercy of God, which was willing to experience the pain and suffering of an agonizing death in the flesh, so that we may have a choice to live; to be reborn even after a lifetime of sin against God.
The Cross is a Sign of God's Love for us.
We must be born again of The Blood of Christ and The Spirit in order to receive the Gift of God from the Death and Resurrection of His Son.
Consider The Cross. It is a Sign, from God to you, of His Love for you.
He allowed His Son to suffer the agony and spill His Blood on the earth, for your sins to be washed away.
