Timothy Chapter 4: 1-4

03/02/2015 16:36

I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, Who shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and His Kingdom; preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the Truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Timothy here writes to us saying that he is speaking in obedience to Christ.  He says Jesus Christ shall judge all those alive and those who died and were in the grave at His appearing and in His Kingdom of Heaven.

He says he is leaving ( because he is dying), and amongst them are leaders who he has taught and he leaves them to  preach the Word of God; to always be ready no matter the time or place to teach, rebuke, reprove, exhort their fellow man.

He speaks prophetically to us saying that the time will come when our fellow men will not endure the sound doctrine of Truth but will seek after all things that are not Godly.  He says we will want a God of our own making. An idol.

The day is certainly here now when people lust after ungodly beliefs and ways of living.

Friend, draw closer to Jesus who loves you.  Listen when He says do not open that door; do not go down that road; when He warns of danger and anger and revenge.  Listen and do an about turn!

It is best for your soul!
